Upon graduating from Stony Brook University, Dr. Gogna completed a three year Residency at Good Samaritan Hospital and Medical Center in West Islip, NY. There, he underwent extensive training in forefoot and rearfoot reconstructive surgery. He also obtained experience in elective surgeries and the management of lower extremity trauma. Dr. Gogna was given the honor of being the Chief Resident the final year of his Residency training.
Dr. Gogna grew up on Long Island, NY playing Soccer and Volleyball. He developed a passion for sports at a young age which gave him the desire to seek specialized training in sports medicine. Upon completion of his Residency training, Dr. Gogna underwent a Podiatric Sports Medicine Fellowship in Los Angeles, CA. There, he garnered extensive experience in treating sports-related injuries of the lower extremity.
From conservative treatments to surgical management of lower extremity injuries, Dr. Gogna developed a keen understanding of how to get athletes of all types and ages back to activity.
Dr. Gogna was heavily trained in the mechanics of the lower extremity and utilizes it in his approach to treating active patients. While in Los Angeles, he honed his skills in the surgical management of sports injuries including substantial experience in arthroscopic surgery.
Growing up on Long Island, he has developed a liking for outdoor activities. You’ll often find him hiking at the beautiful parks that New York and Long Island has to offer. Dr. Gogna uses a calm and professional demeanor to establish the right treatment plan to satisfy the patient’s needs and goals.
Dr. Gogan is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the American Board of Podiatric Medicine.
