Preparing For Fall Sports
When taking part in fall sports activities, be sure to care for your feet the same way you would a star athlete. Some things you can do now to prepare your feet for the upcoming season include:
- Avoid Overdoing It – It’s essential to start training slowly and increase gradually to avoid overuse injuries. Repeated strain and pressure on the feet can lead to Achilles tendonitis, heel spurs, sprains, and other issues.
- Proper Foot Hygiene – It takes more than a daily shower to keep your feet clean. Wash your feet daily in the shower with soap and water, and dry your feet thoroughly to keep fungus and bacteria away. Athlete’s foot or other infections can keep you away from your training. Avoid walking barefoot in common areas like locker rooms or swimming pools.
- Proper Footwear – Know your sport and wear the right footwear for your training. Our team can help you find the most supportive footwear for your needs. Wearing the right shoes can help you avoid ingrown toenails, stress fractures, and more.
